REAL WEDDING: Meg and Karl
From the moment I heard from Meg and Karl, I knew I’d love working with this charming couple. Meg – vibrant, sparkly and full of life – and Karl - friendly, charming and so kind, knew exactly what they wanted: traditional with a twist of ‘doing it their way’. And high on their priorities? Beautiful, bright, colour photography to capture their wedding day.
We were a match made in heaven!
The Big Day: 25th May 2025, Stafford, England
Stop Press!
We began the day with Bride prep: a joyous few hours with Meg, her mum and her bridesmaids buzzing with music, banter and laughter. It really set the whole vibe for the day!
Meg and her ‘maids posed with cool, bespoke wedding newspapers and accessories she had sourced for the shoot, and her effervescence shone through the lens. Not a hint of pre-wedding nerves from this glowing bride!
A tear-jerker of a ceremony
The dapper Karl and his groomsmen met me at the registry office, after one of the groomsmen rescued me from the satnav loop of chaos, where I snapped them in a series of fun shots, before Meg arrived for the ceremony.
Meg and Karl’s little boy almost stole the show as he walked in behind the bridesmaids and ahead of Meg. And oh! The look on Karl’s face when he saw his bride for the first time…it makes me all emotional even now! Even the registrar handed out tissues. I don’t think there was a dry eye in the house!
After the ceremony all the guests gathered in the pub across the way for a big group "cheers" photos and some sausage rolls from Greggs. After couple photos in the gorgeous local park greenhouse, the wedding party made their way to the stunning Post House to continue the day’s celebrations. Dancing, speeches, (more) tears and so much laughter captured what felt like a truly authentic expression of love. It’s not one I’ll forget in a while!
Unforgettable moments
Hungry bellies? Not for this wedding party! One of the guests made an impromptu dash to Gregg’s to stock up on all the sausage rolls for everyone before the main event!
Opting for a 2025 take on the traditional wedding video, the couple hired a behind-the-scenes content creator to capture their very own reel of best bits!
Meg and Karl’s personalised vows – so poignant, so beautiful!
The Champagne pour (a sweet swap for the cake-cutting), made even more memorable when their little boy discovered the spillage on the floor during speeches!
The Daughter-Father dance to Bruce Springsteen – one of my all-time faves!
