REAL KENT WEDDING: Jo and Scott

Weddings have a way of echoing the couple at the centre of them; their style,

idiosyncrasies, even where they are in life’s journey. Some weddings burst with

joyous excitement, some are quieter, simpler affairs. Others, like Jo and Scott’s,

carry a different kind of magic.

And so, on the 14th June, it was a privilege to capture the deep and grounded

connection so evident between the two as they were joined by friends and family to

celebrate this new chapter in their lives.

I arrived at noon to find the beautiful Jo and her pals on great form. Already dressed,

hair and makeup done to perfection, I captured some last-minute touch-ups before

meeting with Scott and his crew. The excitement was palpable!

The ceremony took place in the old Powell Cotton House on the Quex estate in

Birchington, Kent, complete with museum, a sweeping staircase and stunning

gardens. The perfect venue for a summer Kent wedding!

Scott lit up the moment he saw his bride. He looked like the happiest man alive!

Any pre-wedding nerves soon evaporated when someone accidentally confetti-

bombed the ceremony, prompting a loud cheer from everyone present!

The day was HOT! Pics by the fountain and in the shade helped keep things cool,

but it was a little too much for some and, sadly Scott’s mum had to leave earlier than

hoped. Knowing she was in safe hands, the bride and groom returned to their

wedding party for food, speeches and a whole loada dancing!

One thing that really made the day was the kids! Children at weddings can

sometimes be a contentious point for some couples.

Not for Jo and Scott.

Loads of littlies joined the couple for their big day and were AWESOME fun, playing

on the retired cannons, arts-and-crafting and dancing their socks off on the

dancefloor – which was never empty thanks to a cracking set by the amazing Matt

Strafford band. I got stuck right in, snapping the guests as they shook their stuff (and

their glow sticks). Jo and Scott’s day was smashing: a celebration filled with love,

emotions, and an energy that was unmistakably ‘them’.

Congrats to you both!
