26. How Much is the Deposit and When Do You Need It By?

I usually charge a deposit of 25% of the total package price to secure the date. It means that I block the date exclusively for you in my diary (so the sooner the better as with no deposit, no booking!), it covers admin in the lead up to the wedding day, your engagement shoot, and any planning required, so it's usually non-refundable as it covers work already done.

The balance is usually then due 30 days before the wedding or you can pay in instalments. Some of my couples have paid me in advance and if they do then I set that money aside and don't use it until the wedding is complete, just in case something happens and I need to refund it!
